Video mash-ups help get the message across
Quite like this idea of mixing up different media to get across various messages, or to report on an event.
I was impressed with the Soho fire video of the tag cloud in my last post on the digital future of travel writing. But now the stakes are raised – have just come across the below video, which has highlights of the Twitter stream from the recent London News Innovation Unconference. The video was created by journalist Martin Belam for his Currybet blog. Very clever.
Cynically, you may ask what’s with journalists’ infatuation with Twitter, but when you can experiment with ideas like this, it’s the innovation that needs to be respected. It’s not just a Twitter thing.
There was also a Google spreadsheet doc, but this lacks visual impact.
