A new look for this blog…

March 1, 2009

As you’ll notice, my blog has a new look. It’s been about six months since I started it, so definitely time to freshen up.

As well as the new pic at the top, I’ve delved into the murky depths of CSS (hence the orange colour that pops up every now and then).

During my research into redeisgning this blog, I also came across some interesting articles.

I thought this might make interesting reading for anyone else redesgning their blog, or even thinking of starting their own!

  1. The bible of web design Have a look at Jakob Neilson’s Useit.com. It offers great advice on the basic rules of website usability, and design.
  2. Design in more feedback tools Let people comment easily, and also offer the chance to “bookmark” the page, for exmaple by using Delicious, SumbleUpon, or allwo them to “ReTweet” using Twitter. Still need to add this, so watch this space.
  3. Make a note of websites that you like, and bookmark them so you don’t forget them. Note elements of that website and recreate them.

Other useful links, from John Welsh’s These Digital Times:
