Twitter for sale and popularity up for grabs, apparently

July 1, 2009

Is this for real? Will people actually pay for this?

This is brilliant though (and thanks to Travel Trade Gazette web editor Charlotte Walsh for pointing the site out to me).

A press release from starts off with a great boast, saying “Web traffic and promotion company – who famously received and ignored a Cease & Desist order from Digg after selling votes on the site…”

Alarm bells start to ring at this point.

It continues: “We’ve had everyone from churches and automotive blogs, to Fortune 500 companies express interest and invest in our services…”

A church? Which one? More information required please…

“For an investment of only $87, we’ll bring you 1,000 brand new Twitter followers to your existing account…”
