In the midst of the Lockerbie bomber release furore, and boycottscotland.com, it must be tough for VisitScotland, especially as 2009 is the year it is promoting Homecoming Scotland, encouraging Americans to rediscover their roots. And then this…

According to the Times Online yesterday

“Alex Salmond, the Scottish First Minister, dismissed the [Boycott Scotland] campaign during a television interview yesterday, saying: ‘Many, many things appear in the blogosphere. What we are talking about is in the real world, and in the real world the relationship between Scotland and the United States is strong and enduring.'”

Yes, the Boycott Scotland campaign may go unnoticed, but surely it’s a good time to hit back with a positive campaign?
